Upskilling a Manager through interactive workshops

Challenge

After the new appointment of a manager to the management team of this financial institution, it became clear that the new manager was missing some fundamental professional development skills that the organisation had assumed to be present.

Influential and engaging communication to groups both large and small was a challenge for this individual (the issue hadn’t shown up during the interview process as they were only interviewed by one person at a time).

Result

Relevant workshops were specifically chosen and tailored to meet the needs of the new manager, and then were opened up to a larger group to extend the benefit to more managers, while ensuring that the manager with the need was able to develop their skills in a realistic environment in front of larger groups of people.

The new Manager soon developed the skills and the confidence to become an engaging and proficient communicator to small and large groups alike.
